It's a MIRACLE!

Can I get a hallelujah?!?
 Because between...
Valentines Day
Dance Competitions
PTA Stuff
(Including a Birthday Carnival I host for the kiddo's every other month)
Being a mom/homemaker/nurse/wife
Learning how to make a pdf
Learning how to use illustrator (well sort of)
And the other normal insanity which is my life…
I've finally finished the owl pattern!
And you can find in my Etsy Shop
(Crossing my fingers here friends… this is my first experience with etsy).
Here is the link…

So now to tackle what I hope will be miracle #2 today…
The Laundry!
(I have the Psycho music playing in my head as I type that).
I'm working on the adoption certificates next!
Hopefully now that I've worked some of the kinks out it will be A LOT quicker!

Happy weekend all!!!

  2. Anj, I got the download and it is saved until I get to work on it. I was wondering if you have ever used wool from thrift store cloths and just washed it for felted wool?

    Good job on the pattern.

  8. i'd love to have a go at these but i don't even know where to start. yes, i'm that sewing challenged. hee! do i need a machine or are they all hand stitched. do i just buy felt by the yard??

  9. Thanks all! You are sweet as can be!

    Stephanie...
A sewing machine is used in my pattern. I'm sure you could blanket stitch around the entire owl instead, but I haven't tried it that way.

I would also do an internet search for blanket stitch tutorial and try it out first. I think it's pretty easy, but that would give you another idea of what to expect.

As far as yardage goes. This is a tricky answer. At one point the owl pattern is 12 inches (you have to piece part of the patten together). So you would need at least a 1/3 of a yard (but I'd get a bit more to be safe). You'd also be able to make a couple owl bodies out of that amount. For the other pieces (eyes, beak etc…) you don't need a whole lot of fabric, so I guess you could by those sheets of felt, but I'm guessing the quality is significantly lower. When I made mine, I watched for felt to go on sale (it was 2.50 a yard… blessed black friday sale;)), then I went and bought a 1/2 yard and full yards of varying colors. I got about $15.00 of fabric and so far I've made 14 owls from it, and I'm sure I could make more.

    I hope that helps!
